Minor murder

About the execution of minors in Iran.
Whenever I hear anything about state retributive murder (capital punishment) I feel really angry, sad and disgusted. This is one aspect of Islam that I feel most uncomfortable with, particularly because there is a religious presumption that the chance to reform and redeem oneself is in this life. Cutting off that life cuts off the opportunity of repentance. And, of course, ‘mistakes’ are irredeemable. I put ‘mistakes’ in quotes because murder, whether committed by the state or by individuals, is always a mistake.
